Hallo everybody!

My name is Leonilde and I live in Italy.

I was always enchanted by the textile, even when it was only a child play.

My old great-aunts were skilful han-crafters, so I often had many ribbon and lance scarps to join together in eccentric clothes.

They also teached me the “ricamo a riporto genovese” a traditinal embroidery very close to applique’.

But, with time, I left that magic and creative world: I studed and worked as archaeologist for ten years, forgetting cottonos, silks and colors.

When I was expecting my first baby, in 1992, I started to sew again.

You have to know that in Italy patchwork and quilting don’t have a traditional story and till few years ago they are nearly unknowed.

So, I was suprised to find out that there are a lot of techniques and possibilities in this universe.

I learned maby new way to sew and I was expecially won by particular and special ones, like the Japanese folded patchwork that mix the origami technique with fabrics.

In the meanwhile I am cultivating another loved knowledge:
hand-dyed fabris.
